Not All Scammers Are In The White House

This is the cheque scam; luckily this charity wasn’t fooled because they used due diligence.

This scam has been used on Facebook Marketplace for years. I had a co-worker who was scammed out of $200, in something similar.

Double and triple your verification; call the issuer, check with the bank but even so, put that money aside in a separate bank account for, at least, 3 weeks. DO NOT SPEND A CENT. This way, if the cheque bounces, you have the funds.
