This is, without a doubt, the most dangerous time to be a political dissenter to a corrupt administration, it reminds me of current day Russia, where dissenters are murdered, disappeared or jailed.

One shot, to the artery; only a professional could have made this and disappear without a trace. This gives them all the backing they need to declare war on the American people. Lost my sister-in-law last May. She was like a real sister – we laughed, we fought…OMG, did we fight! Both of us had strong personalities and are/were very stubborn.

Today, I was just scrolling through TikTok – my usual political content when it hit me. I just teared up, I am missing her. Missing her so bad.

We knew about Ruby, in Canada; we watched the disgusting behaviour. The news clips stayed with me, my entire life. The courage of that little girl was an inspiration and proof that this kind of racism must be fought at every turn, in every venue, by all of us.
Personally, I love quite a few of King’s books, not all, to be sure but most. One particular novel that stands out during the nightmare of Yam-Tit’s election to president of the U.S. would have to be The Dead Zone. Trump is Stinson or the other way around. A dangerously psychopathic madman with a conman/grifter background. Although unlike many psychopaths, both are stupid. Manipulative to be sure but stupid.
He was my husband’s hero. Hubby is a goalie and grew up watching this legend, in a city that is infamous for its love of hockey.
Mr. Dryden exemplified dignity, class and a love of the game.
The hockey world is paying tribute to this hero of the net.
Anecdote? There was an ongoing debate in our house (mainly because I love to poke the bear 😁); who was the better goalie, Patrick Roy or Ken Dryden. In all honesty, I was a Dryden fan but I was also a Roy fan. Hubby despises Patrick Roy…not entirely sure why but he does. The fun I would have debating this with him…OMG, it was and will probably remain, a huge source of amusement for me.

Forcing religion is never the “right” thing to do. Okay, so the fam has been R.C/Baptist/Jewish/Muslim for generations. A lot of things went on for generations that required change and change came about, sometimes painfully. Religion, by and large, has not kept up.
People, with the exception of right wingnuts, are far more educated, able to form conclusions based on evidence. Society is far more based in logic than in fairy tales and fear mongering.
I get that parents and families have been victimized by terrors from the various pulpits etc. The visions of some sort of devil persona and everlasting punishment repeatedly beat into their psyches until it became their reality, regardless of proof. And no, the bible/Torah/Q’ran are not proof. They’re books, written centuries upon centuries ago. Gilgamesh is believed to have been composed in 2100 BCE. Doesn’t make it valid, just some great storytelling. Same goes for the holy trinity of books/scrolls. Great storytelling but not proof of validity.
So what is at the root of the turning away from the recognized religions of the world? Education. The search for meaning. The search for that elusive path to truth.
The various branches of Occultism, Paganism and Witchcraft seem to offer the freedom to search. For sure, there are branches just as restrictive as the Big 3 but by and large, Occultism and the offshoots flow with change.
Atheism/Agnosticism is also on the rise. You know what is not on the rise? Historical religions. Islam is still higher up on the acknowledged beliefs than Christianity or Judaism but that too, shall change. Absolute control over individuals can’t last, it isn’t who we are as a species.
If your system doesn’t allow questioning, doesn’t allow for freedom of thought, of movement; if your system encourages the subjugation of members? This new millennium is not going to be kind to you, and with good reason.
I get a lot of questions about my use of CBD to control the impact arthritis has on my sleep and daily life. So, I figured I’d just write about my PERSONAL experience and let folks make their own decisions.
Prior to using CBD, I had very little exposure to cannabis. I don’t smoke weed. So the edible idea made sense.
I did my time with Tramadol, Supeudol (Oxycodone Hydrochloride) and the various corticosteroids (shots and oral meds). Did they work? Yes, they did but the side effects and long term impact were not acceptable to me.
Corticosteroids, I have immune system issues and taking that family of meds impacts my resistance to infections even more and just racks the heck out of your stomach. So, that’s not good, either.
Being a woman, in a particular stage in life? Sleep was not a friend. I slept, maybe 3 hours straight and would wake up, wander around, try to go back to bed but the sleep was no restful. I had thought that this was it, no more sleep for me.

Here are the details:

First, heart goes out to the victims of a couple of deadly crashes involving tractor trailers. The truckers at fault, for both but the white sheeted wastes of skin took the names and the fact that these men were not white, as an excuse to start tossing around their racial slurs and seemingly trying, very hard, to make this about country of origin and immigration. Okey dokey….
No. This is and will never be about race or immigration. This is about a lack of oversight by the assorted Ministries/Departments of Transport, licensing and the companies tossing drivers out on the road with no viable training, no real supervision as long as that load is picked up/delivered and the cash flows into their bank accounts.
I’ve been involved, within and also married to the industry for over 40 years and has there been a change? Ya think? There is a driver shortage. No “reg’lar” Canadian or American wants this as a career. I wouldn’t want any of my kids driving for a living. The industry treatment of drivers is horrendous. The level of COMPETENT dispatchers is virtually non-existent.
Here are a couple of statements by pencil pushers, one of whom was a C.F.O:
“Drivers are a necessary liability.” He has since retired but his opinion is entrenched. I beg to differ, it isn’t the drivers who are necessary liabilities – it is the keyboard punchers and number crunchers who are necessary liabilities. Without truckers, there is no company. Without a, wildly, overpaid C.F.O, the company can still function.
The other is:
“Truckers are stupid Neanderthals.” This comment from was a dispatcher and makes me laugh, to this day. Neanderthals that pay your salary and without whom, you would be unemployed.
How many dispatchers have actually attained any sort of certification to do the job safely, effectively? I have. It was a grueling course and caused more than 1 migraine but if certification was mandatory? You would see far less accidents and actually an increase to the company bottom-line. The course includes utilizing equipment logistically, optimizing profit while maintaining good HR policy and safety. At no time was “clearing the screen” ever discussed. (Clearing the screen, refers to having all loads off a pick-up/delivery list, regardless of whether or not these actions can be done safely or at all.)
Drivers encouraged to work beyond their hours…albeit, this is becoming increasingly difficult with the E.L.D. systems but those systems, like any other, relies on oversight. The odds of a “doctored” E.L.D. being discovered is so low, it is ridiculous. Highway officials don’t have the technological training to detect a “hacked” system.
Old School truckers are retiring and few are choosing it as a career. It is destroys the body, breaks up families and kills drivers long before their time.

With the lack of a professionally trained driver pool, rather than hire responsibly, trucking companies are grabbing whomever walks through their doors. If anyone denies this? They lie. The driver shortage is real. The initiative to encourage retention, attract new drivers, is non-existent. Instead, drivers are still being treated like “necessary liabilities”, overworked, underpaid and perhaps even more relevant is that total lack of respect from the pencil pushers. Another comment made to me by a pencil pusher, back in the day?
“Drivers are a dime a dozen.”
That’s the mentality that has created the retention disaster being faced by trucking companies. Professional drivers are, absolutely not, a dime a dozen; you know who are a dime a dozen? Pencil pushers.
Customers don’t give a rat’s ass if a driver is competent or not, if a company is responsible or not. Customers want the load delivered and will rely on load brokers, with no real skin in the game, to that end. There’s a lot of blame to go around but that blame does not lie on any particular culture. It is industry wide.
Were the two drivers, from the fatal accidents, at fault? Absolutely. The U-Turn on the interstate? Go to jail, go directly to jail, do not pass go. In Québec, the driver was accessing a highway, rear-ended a 4-wheeler, killed 1 and sent the other 3 people to hospital; he took off. A hit and run. He’s been caught. Jail buddy, directly to jail.
Now, what about their employers/load brokers or the government? Fault/guilt needs to be spread evenly.
Just an anecdote – I know of 3 fatal accidents, personally, each one of those drivers were as white a frog’s belly. And if I hear one more racial slur, regarding trucking and immigration, I’m going to slap a bitch.
