Tarot – to charge or not to charge…

Not delving into politics…have the flu, I feel sick enough. NyQuil is your friend.

For some reason, my Tarot cards have been on mind, a LOT, lately. I even dream about them. Yeah, yeah, a sign that I should pull them out. I don’t wanna. I haven’t done a serious reading since 2013. Some information just doesn’t need to be “had”, you know?

I started with Tarot in the early 80’s; like most, I started with Rider-Waite, for about 5 years and then, jumped into the deep end with no life preserver, moved to Thoth. The deck was a gift from someone and I just felt electrified by it. It was my deck from that point forward.

One of the larger controversial points in my practice was charging for readings. I don’t. It just goes against my own beliefs. You charge? Fine. Whatever you wish to do. And the blowback? Holy crap on a cracker! You’d think I was kicking puppies or something. My practice, my choice.

Why don’t I charge? Well, it was something I was taught, decades ago; you don’t charge for Craft and Tarot readings fall into that purview for me. I see it as a gift of sorts and my ethics (not better than yours, just mine), do not allow me to charge for a gift.

Gives (gave) me a lot of freedom as to who I read for and who I didn’t feel I wanted to read for. I learned relatively early on, not to read for family, I WON’T read for my kids or immediate family, for example. A couple of reasons, the readings could be tainted by my intimate knowledge of them and their psychology, another reason is learning too much, perhaps…bad news or huge struggle on its way. Selfish on my part? Probably.

I used to hold Tarot classes, didn’t charge those those either. What people did with what they gleaned from those classes/workshops was up to them.

Why am I writing about this? I guess I am just working out, whether or not I should pull the cards out.

Speaking About Creepy Crawlies; Trump & Bondi et al.

Garbage pick up in Washington and Mar-A-Lago

This pic would almost be funny if it wasn’t so ironic.

So the Dumpster-Fire-In-Chief called a female reporter “Piggy”. Completely unsurprising considering his long, long, long history of misogyny and disgusting sexual assaults, both verbal and physical, against women. I have no questions regarding Yam-Tits comment, it is on-brand for him. I do, however, have questions for the testicle bearing reporters; where was your outrage? Where was your defense of a fellow member of the press? We will remember you. Your credibility is shot. Mind you, that fact that you all sit there and allow him to lie, without challenge is, pretty much, on brand for you lot as well. Journalism is dead, apparently.

And then there is this one – welcoming and kissing the ass of a malicious dictator, of a country with a horrendous human rights record. A country that suppresses anyone who speaks up about the atrocities. A country that arranged the murder, on foreign soil, of a journalist. Where are the male voices, calling him out?

The Fourth Estate has been bought and paid for by a salacious piece of shit and his cronies. Is that invitation to Mar-A-Lago worth your reputation? Rhetorical. Obviously, it is.

Just as Stalin, Hitler and Pol-Pot have never been forgotten, nor will this “clown show” of an administration be forgotten. The family names, for good or ill, are/will be ruined. The people who supported this administration will never be forgotten. The reporters who stood by and did not challenge the veracity of statements by the Mango-Moron likewise, will never be forgotten for their role in aiding and abetting the destruction of the United States.

Account Integrity

Account integrity abuses encompass activities where bad actors manipulate or misuse identities, attempting to operate behind a facade through fabricated or stolen data. Such deceptions include;

  • Fake Accounts – creating false accounts to troll or harass other users.
  • Account Sharing – sharing a single use subscription to a video streaming service
  • Multi Accounting – users create multiple accounts to upvote their own posts
  • Identity Theft – using someone else’s personal information to create a new account

I’ve been on “social media” since the BBS days of yore and online abuse has always been an issu; threats, identity theft, dick pics… Unfortunately, it is become worse, it has become dangerous and it is, now, criminal.

I’ve been the target (I am no one’s “victim”) of abuse, of account spamming by hated filled knotheads. It can be upsetting, particularly when doxxing is employed.

Doxing is the intentional online exposure of an individual’s identity, private information or personal details without their consent. It is slimy, heinous and deserves a jail cell, I.M.O.

I’m seeing this, currently, on TikTok. This is an abuse of the system and is so very common on that social media platform. I believe in freedom of speech but there has to be a very firm line. When the personal privacy and safety of individuals are involved? The platform and the law should be obligated to step in.

If you are the target of such disgusting behaviour? BLOCK, I know the temptation to reply/watch is strong but don’t do it. These are folks with underdeveloped psyches and the more attention, the worse the behaviours, as protection is spotty and minimal from the platforms; protect yourself. Gather the evidence you have on hand, videos, messages etc. and save to a flash-drive; send a message and screenshot that message with the date/time appearing, informing said piece of shit that you are requesting that the behaviour cease, immediately, then, you have to block.

I used to refer to the internet as a double-edged sword…it is and both sides are razor sharp. Protect yourself out there…

Minimization of Crime and Violence By Hockey Canada; Oshawa Generals

18 years of age is not a “very young player”.

It is disturbing although totally unsurprising to see the hockey world circling their wagons after a brutal and potentially life impacting illegal hit on another “very young player”.

18 is not “very young” for any intent or purpose. This player, 18 year-old Luke Dragusica, assaulted and delivered a deliberate slash, from behind, to the back and side of 17-year-old Brady Blaseg’s head. According to the reports of the incident, Dragusica was taken to the boards by the defenseman Blaseg. Balseg had skated away to return to play when Dragusica rose and intentionally sought out Blaseg who had checked him, then delivered the hit, from behind while Blaseg was in play.

Yes, hockey is a fast-paced and extremely physical game; emotions run high with the adrenaline rushes, men/boys/women and girls included. It is exactly for those reasons that unacceptable unsportsmanlike behaviours cannot be tolerated. The dirty hit by Dragusica was a vicious assault, it was not a legal check, it was not even “spur of the moment” per se; it was thought out and intentional. At 18 years old, at the level of hockey played by the Juniors, particularly the level of the Generals, this is a sign of someone who does not have the capacity or, dare I say, character to be playing with an elite team. The attack, from behind, could be career ending and at 18 years old, as an elite? Dragusica would be aware of that.

Is it a criminal assault? Tough call because of the nature of hockey but yes, I would say it was and should be punished, severely. I don’t think, following the viciousness of this attack, that Dragusica is emotionally ready for elite hockey. Whether or not he should be criminally charged should be up to Baseg and his parents. Lifetime ban? I don’t know; depends on Dragusica’s past record in the game. Is he a talented goon? Demote him. Is he a usually exemplary player? Then the hockey admins need to climb down off their self-constructed pedestals and consult with the parents of Baseg as well as the two players involved, as to whether a lifetime ban is the correct call.

H3N2 is a subtype of influenza A that can cause severe flu seasons, particularly among older adults, young children, and people with chronic health conditions, and recent data indicates Canada may face a challenging flu season due to an evolving form of H3N2.

The virus mutates frequently, which can lead to changes in severity and potential mismatches with seasonal vaccines 

Symptoms and Complications

Infection with H3N2 typically lasts 5–7 days, though a severe cough may persist for up to three weeks. Common symptoms include:

  • Fever and chills
  • Body aches and headaches
  • Sore throat and cough
  • Exhaustion
  • Minor nasal congestion
  • Vomiting and diarrhea, more common in children 

Serious complications can occur, even in otherwise healthy individuals, and include pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, meningitis, and myocarditis

Risk Factors

People at higher risk of severe outcomes from H3N2 infection include:

  • Children under 5 years
  • Adults 65 years and older
  • Pregnant individuals
  • People with chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, immunosuppression, or neurological conditions 

Diagnosis and Treatment

H3N2 influenza is diagnosed by a healthcare provider using symptom assessment, physical examination, and sometimes rapid flu tests from nasal or throat swabs. Antiviral medications, such as Tamiflu or Relenza, are most effective if administered within the first 48 hours of symptom onset 

Supportive care, including rest, hydration, and over-the-counter symptom relief, is crucial, while antibiotics are only necessary in the case of secondary bacterial infections.

Prevention

Preventive measures include:

  • Receiving the annual flu vaccine, which reduces severity and mortality 
  • Practicing good respiratory hygiene: covering mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, frequent handwashing, and avoiding touching the face
  • Avoiding close contact with infected individuals and staying home when sick
  • Using protective equipment and hygiene when in contact with pigs, as certain H3N2 variants originate in swine 

Vaccines for influenza cannot cause the flu because they contain only protein components of the virus 

Current Situation in Canada

Flu cases are rising in Canada, and experts warn that the 2025 – 2026 season could be particularly severe due to a mutated H3N2 strain, which may have structural changes making it partially mismatched with the current vaccine. Early indicators from the Southern Hemisphere and parts of Europe and Asia suggest potential record high case counts. In Canada, older adults and school-aged children are at higher risk for severe infection 

Public health authorities advise Canadians, especially seniors, to get vaccinated and consider combining flu shots with other seasonal vaccines such as COVID-19 or RSV vaccines where eligible. Although vaccine coverage may not perfectly match the circulating H3N2 variant, vaccination can still reduce illness severity, complications, and deaths

In summary, H3N2 is a significant seasonal flu subtype with potential for severe illness, and proactive measures—including vaccination and hygiene—are essential as Canada heads into the flu season.

And Republidumbs Shoot Themselves in the Foot, Yet Again 🤣

So apparently, in addition to all the other scandals and absolutely stupid decisions/orders (I’ve lost count); the idiots are now going to ban hemp and hemp derived products. Totally unaware that most of the states producing the products are, in fact, red states – Kentucky…Texas…and Florida.

Every single day, this bunch of dangerous clowns, grifters and molesters make me so happy to be Canadian.

Canada has managed to legalize cannabis and related products, allow the provinces to regulate, and everyone is managing quite well. There was far less profit to manufacturers/distributers than, originally, anticipated but those who ran the businesses well, are doing great. Increased tax dollars, products available for a multitude of medical conditions without the need for pharmaceuticals. (I, for one, use CBD gummies, at night so that I can sleep and for Rheumatoid Arthritis pain as opposed to opioid painkillers.) I know products also help with P.T.S.D. as well as other psychological issues.

Is this why the products are going to be banned? Fear from the pharmaceutical companies who lavished $$ on Trump and his gang of crooks?

Aren’t Republicans the party of “less government interference”? The old Republican party perhaps, this one seems to be a fascist, dictatorial gang of criminals.

When Someone Else’s Religion Interferes With Your Choice

NOT YOUR CHOICE OR DECISION, SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP.

Step right up folks and see the “Physician God Complex” on full display; attempting to remove the rights and freedoms of individuals to make their own decisions regarding their healthcare based on their religious beliefs.

On their website, the ironically named “Canadian Physicians for Life”, they blather about Hippocratic oath, although in their case, I interpret it as Hypocritical oath…here, as an example:

“We promote healthcare in the Hippocratic tradition that situates the patient’s good at the heart of all medical practice. We believe that the proper goal of medical science and, therefore, of its practitioners is to preserve and protect human life, to relieve suffering, and to promote healing.“

By proposing to take away patients’ choice as with MAID, they are not relieving suffering, unless you consider pumping folks full of opioids “relief of suffering”, demanding that patients decline into a vegetative state, causing grief and hardship on loved ones, “relief of suffering”.

Attempting to demand that a patient with a terminal disease/condition, demanding a patient to waste away in front of their family, their friends or ensuring a patient lives in constant pain is not relief from suffering.

Where do these people and that’s all they are, at the end of it all, gather their unmitigated gall to make the most personal of all life decisions for us? They are propelled by religion and that…to me, at any rate, nullifies their understanding and application of the Hippocratic Oath.

My life, my death…MY CHOICE, not yours, and definitely not your “God’s”. Look up hubris and offer up your photos as examples.

Take note of the names of these people and avoid them, whenever possible because your choice makes no difference to them.

Fight Back, Use Their Tactics. Put Men on Notice.

We’re Over It.

Fellow women and those identifying as women? The justice system has tied our hands, they want us to fight back, yet deny us the weapons we need to do so.

When we do, when the suspects are arrested? THEY have protection. He said/she said? Fine. We can use that mindset to our advantage.

“Why Officer! Absolutely did not pepper spray the suspect. Never saw him before, in my life.” Or similar scenarios.

In Canada – pepper spray is illegal. Anything that can be used as a weapon (read self-defense) is illegal. Yet, when a rapist, molester is, RARELY, brought to justice; it is the victim who is attacked, yet again.

  1. Did you fight back?
  2. Did you encourage him?
  3. Why were you walking/jogging/hiking alone?
  4. How many sexual partners have you had?
  5. Were you under the influence of an intoxicant?

Inevitably, it boils down to the victim’s credibility, unless there’s an actual witness and let’s face it, there is not going to be a witness. So, use that mindset to your advantage; no witness? Well then; “Officer, I have no idea what the guy is talking about! I’ve never seen him before in my life.”

With the statute of limitations having run out; I will admit to using pepper spray on someone who tried to assault me, as I was walking home, late at night. Nailed the bastard right in the face and he dropped like a rock. I couldn’t report the attempted assault because? I defended myself and I used something that was deemed to be illegal. I saved myself from an assault and who knows, perhaps something worse, but I knew I would be arrested.

What woman/woman identifying individual has not been the victim of some sort of sexual assault? Probably count them on one hand. The dude who presses his little pride and joy up against you on public transport. The moron whacking his meat in a car that pulls up beside you, or standing behind a tree in a park? The man who “accidently” touches your boob or your butt? Need I go on? No. All of us know and are familiar with the behaviours.

Enough. Fight back. Buy the spray repellant. Put your keys between your fingers and USE them. Have that cell phone out and at the ready; take their picture, blast them wherever you can. Share with friends, ask them to share with friends…like the old Faberge commercial, “And so on, and so on…”

Do not expect help or support from law enforcement, from the “justice” system; the deck was stacked eons ago and no one is willing to step up for us.

If men do not call out subtle or avert non-consensual attacks on women? Then, it is “All Men”.

Bullshit to the “Oh, its just locker room talk!” “Men will be boys.” This insidious acceptance of unacceptable behaviour does encourage the weak minded among men. Men? If you don’t call this out? You are supporting the sexual assault of ALL women; your Mom, your sister, your daughters, your granddaughters. Think about it…think long about it; some guy grabbing on a female member of your family.

GENEALOGY, RABBIT HOLE AND WISHFUL THINKING

I have been working on our family tree for over 15 years; it is a frustrating, headache inducing, labour of love. I knew when I started out, it would be tough. Oh boy, was I wrong; it is beyond tough. Oh sure, modern family is relatively easy but even modern doesn’t take into consideration, family secrets/skeletons and wishful thinking.

Anyway, so I’m working on lineage from the U.K and I come across a 8x great-grandmother. The information tells me she died at the Tower of London…Whoa, heavy mystery time!!! I researched, researched and researched some more and I could not find a single piece of evidence for the claim; in fact, I found the opposite. No executions held in the Tower in that time frame. So, back to the drawing board for her. Not a big deal as this was way back in the early 1700’s.

If you are on that genealogy journey? Take everything with a grain of salt and research. Don’t rely on only one source or genealogy site. You will just do yourself a disservice.

Sighh…ALWAYS LISTEN TO BRAD…

Totally not political or social post. It’s a “Whiny-why did I do that!!!!” kind of thing.

So, I am going to get a massive hair cut and colour this week. Great place, near me. After over …um, many decades of bleached blonde hair. I am going to what I THINK is my natural colour – “think” being the operative word because, I can only guess due to the colour of my roots.

Killed my hair, I mean it was a senseless murder. Burned, split, breakage – its a total disaster. I tried to repair as much as I could with hair bonding products. They disguise it but that’s all it is. I’m tired of having to colour my hair every couple of months. I’m tired of the expense. I don’t have too much in the way of grey – the streaks I seem to have are more white and I’m good with that.

Thursday is the transformation day…shed a tear for my colouriste. She is going to earn her money….

My message to everyone? ALWAYS LISTEN TO BRAD!!!
