So, there’s a coffee company, in St. Catharine’s, Ontario; owned and operated by a veteran. Donates to the community but apparently, this is just not acceptable by Garry Inrevy, Muhammad Gulraiz, Richard Bailey and Greg Schell.
Apparently, to them, veterans should be seen and not heard, unless it is Remembrance Day. Veterans can’t use their position to further the cause. Well, I was so angry at their behaviours? I not only ordered coffee, I tripled my original plan to order 1 bag, in support.
Disgusting, these men are disgusting. Please help support Arrowhead Coffee.
Tired of the drama, the inhumanity and general human bullshit.
I have, absolutely, had it with the political bullshit on both the north and south of the 49th Parallel. The legitimization of Neo-Nazism, the ‘phobes, and I won’t even get started on TikTok…friends being harassed and actually stalked, TikTok does, absolutely, nothing. I am gobsmacked.
No, I am not a blue-haired vegan woke Liberal. I rock the center road, except when it comes to hate. If that makes me “woke” so be it. Fuck yourself.
No more politics, fighting kiddie diddlers on TikTok. I have to take this weekend away from social media, I have enough issues around here with which to deal.
Starting the weekend off with these guys.
Highly recommend this Québecoise band, La Chicane ; I love them! And yeah, you do not get more tête carré than me…🤣. The emotion, the voice, the musicians’ talents, the song writing…OMG. Well, here’s a link to one of my favourite songs.
Abuse immediately makes me see red. So, I had to sit down and calm myself before attempting this post and I make no promises that I won’t use offensive language. I will try but I can’t promise.
This particular piece is about elder abuse, so don’t do the “What about “XYZ” abuse”. All forms of abuse are inexcusable but this? This is about the abuse of a massive group of vulnerable people.
This abuse is occurring in the homes of the seniors, a place where they should feel safe, secure. It is happening in long term care institutions, hospitals, and centres d’acceuil (I can’t think of the English words…kind of like a seniors residence but with care). There’s no excuse, everyone is a P.O.S, no one more than another, family members, friends, nurses, hospital/care center staffers.
Oh I hear some now; “You don’t know the stress!” Wrong. I do. I know how hard it is to deal with an elderly individual who is losing cognitive function, who is losing control over bodily functions, late night ambulance calls, doctor appointments, tests, dangerous episodes of forgetfulness, all while trying to hold down a full time job and maintain a home.
There has to be more support for caregivers, at home, in the various residences/institutions but it won’t happen. No one is willing to pay for the kind of aid required. Senior residences are in it for the $$$, public institutions don’t have the funds and care by family? The latter are completely forgotten; oh sure, you can get a grant for assistance tools – stabilizing bars for the shower…etc. Big freaking deal.
I wish I could hold out with some optimism but I’ve been around too long. Nothing will happen, Stats-Can are free to run as many studies as they wish but it all amounts to nothing but wasted time, while senior are beaten, forgotten and left to die, alone. We are judged by who we treat our most vulnerable and we are failing, monumentally, with our treatment of seniors.
In Montreal, the Elder Abuse Line can be reached at 1-888-489-2287 or 514-489-2287. This bilingual, confidential help line is available for seniors who are victims of exploitation, abuse, or neglect, as well as their families, friends, neighbors, and the general population. The line is a provincial government service and offers support and referrals for those in need
Decriminalize Drug Use. It is a public health issue.
Go ahead, clutch your pearls and when you’re done? Ask yourself about that “War on Drugs”, has it been successful? That’s a big old “No!”
Now, take a look at the Netherlands, at Portugal where individual drug use has been decriminalized, holding drugs in the amounts designed for personal use has also been decriminalized. It has not led to wide spread addiction, it has led to a common sense approach to a health problem.
People are dying but they are not “one of us” so who cares, right? Well, as a human being, I do.
Did prohibition work? Sure did, if you want to talk about the creation and perpetuation of criminal networks and whole lot of dirty money exchanging hands. Financial dynasties were created by thwarting the Volstead Act. Same way financial dynasties have been created thwarting useless drug laws, throughout the world.
Decriminalizing drug use, offering health care and allowing people to maintain their dignity will go much further in lowering drug related crime than the nonsensical systems currently in place.
I’m so tired of watching people die, of prisons being overcrowded due to indifference. Of criminals living in luxury as they funnel the pay-offs and the bribes so they can continue to kill, indiscriminately.
The whole system needs to be scrapped and a new common sense address of the situation is long overdue. The “Why’s” absolutely need to be examined. The root causes. Why do you not require chemical/organic aids to get through a day; what is the difference between you and the person dying in the street, in their homes, in a club or a high school bathroom? Who is benefitting from the drug crisis?
Society is judged, by history, for its treatment of its vulnerable. We’re failing, in a big way.
The Trump name will be relegated to history’s chapters of shame and degradation. He has cursed the name, already coated in slime, even further. We can add Rubio, Miller, Noem, Hegseth, Levitt, Hoekstra et al to that particular chapter as well.
I don’t think there is any redemption for any of them at this point. Protecting and supporting a felonious, sexual assaulting grifter. Yeah – their names are done.
You cannot make this shit up. They do but the rest of us can’t.
Security concerns? Aside from noted misogynist, Xtian nationalist and xenophobe, Charlie Kirk, what Republican has experienced violence? The protests were peaceful. Sure, online comments are brutal but absolutely deserved.
They back a felon, a man who sexually assaulted minors and grifted money from charities; yet…they are unclear about why people think they are garbage.
The EBT/SNAP program is, apparently, been pulled by the order of Yam-Tits and his felonious friends. Yet..they are unclear about why people think they are garbage.
Billions sent to a foreign nation that most of their loyalists couldn’t find on a map (Argentina – its in South America, known for housing/protecting Nazis after the war). Yet..they are unclear about why people think they are garbage.
Medical insurance to skyrocket, leaving millions unable to afford healthcare Which Countries Do Not Have National Healthcare:
The United States is the only developed country without a universal healthcare system. Other countries that do not have national healthcare include South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Nigeria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Syria. These countries either do not have a universal healthcare system or are working towards one. Yet..they are unclear about why people think they are garbage.
Their fearless leader has destroyed a historic part of the seat of government to indulge his fantasy ballroom, while people go hungry, lose their homes. Yet..they are unclear about why people think they are garbage.
Yam-tits and his little titties have made the U.S. into an international pariah. No one trusts, nor respects the country/leader. The U.S. has become an international joke. Yet..they are unclear about why people think they are garbage.
Excellent interpretation of the philosophy while exploding myths and lies. Yeah, yeah…Great Beast, Cefalù, Crowley….Scarlet Woman, Whore of Babalon (Babylon); its media “click bait” from way back. Whoa there, no – Crowley was no hero and in fact, I think he suffered from a myriad of physical and psychological problems but he was a genius. His genius was tempered/diluted by the age in which he lived, his background but underneath the pomposity, the substance abuse, he was a genius. Personally? I have a love/hate relationship with him and his works. He is and shall remain the answer to the question, “If you could meet one person from history, who would it be?”
